It was a great honor to have 宏基老師 to have a sharing during his attendance at ATD APC in 2017. The topics included the innovator’s advantage & the effectiveness of training.

First of all, he asked us a question ” What’s the difference between creation and innovation? ”
One of a member said, ” creation is making something up; however, innovation is improving what it already had.” This made me think of what I am going to do at the company. Moreover, by looking what others work is a good idea to see the things differently as well. Mr. Tasi also told us about the kinds of innovator are product innovation, process innovation, position innovation, and paradigm innovation. In a different diversion, you can see what you can do about various works including your job. For position innovation, he used J&G Fried Chicken as an example. Due to having an upgrading fried chicken shop, it makes this idea to a higher profit. By introducing the innovator’s advantage model made all of the members to rethink what innovator be made. This includes three important elements: people, continuum, and framework. In the end, he let us understand what can we do about our personality test without using a new tool, but still making a better understanding to have our original test to be widely used, such as MBTI or DISC and so on.

At the second sharing, having members to let their ideas be shared made the activity more resonate. The effectiveness of training is also related to PDCA, ADDIE, PDDRO. There is six step of training effectiveness including Define, Design, Deliver, Drive, Deploy, Document. The difference among of all is the fourth step – Drive Learning Transfer. We all know what’s going to happen during a training course, whether it’s phubbling or falling asleep. However, it’s hard to have all the attendance learn from their heart and take what have learned to their work.

In this two sharing, not only have my attention focus but remind myself to be a better trainer.
